This painting depicts a monkey woman with a hat lying under a tree, away from the sun. It's an original 24"x44" oil on canvas. Haitian sculptor and painter, Jasmin began his career a a sculptor, the most striking figures were animals. Upset because his works were being copied Joseph turned to painting. His use of animals tales to point a moral relates to traditions of Haitian folklore.
